Aditya Cement

We are located right at the Adityacement site in Chittorgarh. It’s a massive area, and our office is tucked into one of the sections near the main operations. Being on-site means it’s always loud and there is a lot of movement. You see trucks coming and going at all hours of the day and night. The air is always a bit thick with the smell of the plant and the dust from the limestone. Our office is a functional space with heavy-duty furniture because everything gets worn down pretty fast here. We deal with the administrative side of the cement business, which involves a lot of counting, checking, and re-checking. It is not the cleanest place to work, but it is where the action is. Most of us live in the nearby colony provided for the workers, so we are here even when we aren't at work. We eat at the canteen and know almost everyone by their first name. It’s a community, really. We don’t have a lot of visitors who aren't involved in the industry, so we don't worry much about how the office looks. It’s all about efficiency and making sure the production numbers match what’s going out. It is hard work and the sun in Rajasthan is no joke, but we’ve all been doing this for a long time now. We usually keep some cold water in the clay pots by the door to stay hydrated and keep going.
