Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

We are located at B-154 in Zinc Nagar, right off Kapasan Road here in Chittorgarh. Living and working in a place like Zinc Nagar means you’re always around the same people, which is actually kind of nice. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. has been the main thing around here for ages. Our office is basically a house converted into a workspace. It has that lived-in feel, with papers everywhere and a few old chairs that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time talking about the smelter or the mines because that’s what everyone here does. The road outside can get a bit noisy with the trucks going by, but you get used to the vibration after a week or two. We start early because the Rajasthan heat is no joke by midday. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone sorting through site reports or arguing over a spreadsheet. It’s not a corporate showroom; it’s just where the actual work happens. We keep the windows open when it’s not too dusty to get a breeze. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we all just sit on the porch and wait it out. It’s a community feel, really. We are just a small part of the bigger machine, making sure the local details don't get lost in the shuffle. It’s simple, it’s honest, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Even the street dogs know our office hours by now.
