Hindustan Zinc Limited

We are based at house number 15-6-16 on Ramayya Street in Kakinada. It is a residential kind of street, so it’s much quieter than being in a big industrial zone. The office is essentially a converted house, which gives it a very different feel than a typical workplace. You walk in through a gate and there is a small porch. We use the main rooms for our desks and filing. Kakinada is a nice coastal town, and the air is often salty. We have windows that let in a good amount of light, though we keep the fans going all day to deal with the heat. Our team is small and we’ve known each other for a long time. We don't have any formal reception area or fancy uniforms. We just dress comfortably for the weather and get to work. Sometimes the neighbors walk by and say hello. It’s a very grounded way to work for a company as big as Hindustan Zinc Limited. We handle the local affairs and the paperwork that comes through this part of Andhra Pradesh. There’s a certain pace to life on Ramayya Street that we’ve grown to appreciate. We aren't in a rush to change anything about how we operate here. It is simple, it’s honest, and it gets the job done without any unnecessary fuss. We just keep doing our bit from this house in Kakinada.
