Hindustan Zinc Limited, Vedanta Resources

Our office is located in State Bank Colony, just behind Rajghat Colony on the Lehir Gird Shivpuri Road. This isn't one of those big glass buildings you see in the city; it’s a more modest setup that fits into the neighborhood. We work under the Vedanta Resources name, but our day is filled with very practical, local tasks. The road outside can get a bit congested during peak hours, but it’s a convenient enough spot for most of us to get to. The colony is quiet for the most part, which helps when we have to focus on the technical reports or the payroll files. We don't have a big sign out front, just a small one so people know they’re in the right place. The interior is simple, with plenty of storage for all the documents we have to keep. We usually keep a pot of tea going in the small kitchen area, and everyone helps themselves. It’s a very informal atmosphere, but the work always gets finished on time. We have seen the Shivpuri Road area grow a lot over the years, with new shops and houses popping up everywhere. Despite the changes, our office stays pretty much the same. We like the consistency of it. There are no corporate slogans on the walls, just some old maps and a clock that’s usually a few minutes fast. We are just regular people doing a necessary job for the company.
