Birla Corporation ( Birla Cement Works)

Our office for the Birla Cement Works is located in Bapu Nagar, which is in Bhilwara. It’s a residential house, number 17-A-25, that we’ve converted into a working space. Bhilwara is a big industrial city, but our little corner is relatively quiet compared to the main factory areas. We mostly deal with the paperwork and the coordination for the cement side of the corporation. The office feels a lot like a home because it used to be one. We have a small porch where we sometimes sit in the evenings when the heat dies down. Inside, it’s mostly just filing cabinets and a couple of computers. We don't have a big sign out front, so people sometimes walk right past us. We know most of our neighbors, and they don’t mind us running a business from here. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't use much marketing because our work comes through the company channels anyway. We just make sure the daily reports are filed and the orders are processed. It’s not very glamorous, but it’s steady work. We like being in Bapu Nagar because it’s easy for us to get to and it feels comfortable. It’s just us doing our daily jobs in a simple house without any of the corporate noise.
