Down in Deeg, you can find us near the Kaman Gate. We are tucked away in a small lane called Sew Wali Gali. It’s one of those narrow streets where everyone knows everyone else. Being in Bharatpur district, we’re surrounded by a lot of history, but our day-to-day is much more mundane. We handle the local paperwork and coordination for the Leighton Ose joint venture. The office is just a couple of rooms that we’ve set up with basic furniture and some old computers. It gets quite hot in the summer months, so we usually start our day pretty early to beat the heat. There’s a lot of noise from the street—scooters buzzing by and people shouting greetings—but it’s a good kind of energy. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate values posted on the walls. We just come in, do the work that’s assigned to us, and try to make sure no mistakes are made in the logs. If someone has a problem, they just say it out loud and we figure it out together. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay organized despite the cramped space. It’s a real, local office where the people are just trying to do their jobs and get home on time. It’s not much to look at, but we get the work done.
