Our place is situated out on Changchitar Road in the Nathu Ji Ka Baria area of Beawar. It is a bit on the edge of town. Things are a little quieter out here compared to the main market area. The road acts as a main route for trucks and tractors, so we see a lot of heavy traffic passing by throughout the day. Our building is a simple, sturdy structure. It doesn't have any extra decorations or fancy signs on the exterior. We chose this spot because it gives us a bit more room to breathe. Managing our tasks is easier without being in the middle of the city congestion every day. Inside, the office is just a large room with a few desks and some steel cupboards for all our documents. The floors are easy to clean. This is good because the dust from the road tends to find its way inside no matter what we do with the doors. We usually start our day pretty early to beat the heat. The first thing we do is put on the fans and start the tea. We don't get many people just dropping in, so we can usually get through our work without too many interruptions. The people in the Baria know us well enough. Sometimes we stop to chat with the local drivers who pull over nearby for a break. It’s a basic, honest way to spend the work week, focused on the tasks we have in front of us.
