We are working out of House Number 20 in Som Nagaur, which is part of the Madhuban Colony in Senthi. This location in Chittorgarh is quite close to Ginus Public School, so we often hear the kids playing or the school bell ringing during the day. It is a quiet residential neighborhood, which is a bit of a change from the noisy highway projects we are usually dealing with. Our office is basically a converted house where we have set up some long tables for maps and project files. There are stacks of paper everywhere, mostly related to road surveys and local land issues. Since we are near the school, we have to be careful about where we park our vehicles so we don't block the road for the parents. We don’t have any fancy signage or a big glass entrance. It is just a plain building with white walls and a few ceiling fans that stay on all day. Most of the people working here are engineers or clerks who spend half their time out on the road and the other half filling out reports in these rooms. The Rajasthan sun can be quite harsh, so we usually have water coolers running in every corner. We keep a simple schedule, starting early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. It is a very down-to-earth environment where the main goal is just keeping the highway paperwork organized.
