Working at B-58 in Binanigram means you’re right in the middle of everything. We’re part of the Binani Cement Ltd family, though it feels more like a small village than a big company most days. Being out here on Sirohi Road in Rajasthan, you get used to the heat and the constant movement of people. We’ve got a mix of folks here, some who’ve been around since the start and others just learning the ropes. The building isn't anything to write home about, just a functional space where we keep the records and talk to the drivers. Since we’re listed as being in India, we get all sorts of mail, but mostly it's just local business. The yard gets dusty when the wind picks up, which is pretty often. We don’t spend much time worrying about how things look to outsiders. We just want to make sure the bags are loaded and the schedules are kept. It’s a practical kind of job. You come in, you see what the priority is for the morning, and you get to it. Sometimes we have to stay late if a shipment is delayed, but nobody complains much. We usually just grab another cup of tea and wait for the trucks. It’s a steady life and it keeps us busy. We like the fact that people in the area know us by name. It makes the long days feel a bit shorter. We don't need fancy titles to know we're doing our bit for the town.
