Kathiya Baba Spare House

Our shop, Kathiya Baba Spare House, is in Rajarbag, right in the Bramhabari area of Udaipur. People around Tripura South usually know the way to us because it’s a small place and word gets around. We mostly stock spare parts for different kinds of machines and vehicles. It’s a bit of a cluttered shop, with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, but we generally know where everything is tucked away. If someone comes in looking for a specific bolt or a belt, we can usually dig it out for them after a bit of searching. It’s a quiet town most days, except for when the market is busy. We’ve been here for years, and the building shows its age a little, but it’s sturdy. We aren't trying to be a big modern store. We just want to make sure that when a farmer or a driver has a breakdown, they can come here and find what they need to get moving again. The floor is concrete and the walls are covered in old calendars and part numbers. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s slow and talk to whoever passes by. It’s a simple life running a spare parts house. We don't use computers for everything, a lot of it is just written down in our ledgers. It works for us and it has worked for a long time now, through good seasons and bad ones alike.
