Jawahar Trauma Centre

You can find us over on Kamaraj Nagar 1st Street. It is a bit quieter back here compared to the big main roads, which is actually helpful when we are trying to focus. Being a trauma centre means we never really know what the day is going to bring through the door. Some hours are very still, and the staff might be sitting around the desk talking about their families or what they had for lunch. Then, all of a sudden, things pick up and everyone has to move fast. The building itself is straightforward, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but it serves its purpose. We have the emergency area and the beds set up for whoever needs them. The floor is tile and it gets cleaned constantly because of all the foot traffic. We see a lot of local people from Kamaraj Nagar and the surrounding blocks. Sometimes the neighbors pop their heads in just to say hello or ask a quick question. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big corporate office telling us what to do every minute. We just know our jobs and we do them. It can be stressful when the cases are tough, but that is the nature of this kind of work. When the shift ends, we usually grab a tea nearby before heading home to rest.
