Down on 12, Sri Rampur Road, you’ll find us working away at Sri Laxmi Fabrications. It’s a noisy place most of the time because of the tools and the metalwork we have going on. The workshop is right on the road, so it’s easy to find if you’re looking for the number 12 sign. We’ve got scrap metal piled up in the corner and tools spread across the benches. It might look messy to someone walking in for the first time, but there is a system to it. Most days we are covered in a bit of soot or grease by lunch. We don't spend much time in an office because the real work happens out on the floor. Sri Rampur Road gets busy with trucks and bikes, so we usually keep the big doors open to catch a breeze. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months. We started this place because we knew how to build things with our hands. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters for us. We just take the measurements and get to work on whatever the customer needs. Sometimes we stay late to finish a job if the deadline is tight. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We’ve been at this same spot for years and the locals know where to find us when something needs fixing or making.
