Anwar Rice Mill

Anwar Rice Mill is located at 2-34-76 in Kasarlagadda, over in Manthani. If you’ve ever been near a rice mill, you know exactly what it’s like. The smell of the husks and the constant sound of the huller going all day long. It’s a rhythm we’ve lived with for years. We aren't a big industrial giant. We are just a local mill that takes in paddy from the farmers around Manthani and turns it into rice. It’s hard work and it gets very dusty in the yard. We all wear scarves over our faces when the machines are running hard. There are piles of sacks everywhere you look. We don’t have a website or a marketing person to talk to. Most people just show up with their tractor loads and we get to work. It’s a basic business. We try to keep the machines in good shape, but they are old and need a lot of grease and attention. The office is just a corner of the main building with a wooden table and a few stools. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon. When the harvest is in, we work late into the night. It’s tiring, but it’s what we do. People in Kasarlagadda know us as the place that gets the job done without any fuss. That’s how we like to keep things.
