Jk Builders is located at No. 43/444 on Cholam Street in Rajajipuram, which is part of the Thiruvallur District. Our office is more of a place to store tools and samples than a place to sit and relax. There is always a pile of bricks or a bag of cement sitting somewhere near the entrance. I spend most of my time out at different sites, but when I am here on Cholam Street, I am usually looking at blueprints or talking to the suppliers on the phone. Rajajipuram is a growing area, and there is a lot of construction happening on every other block. It can get quite dusty and loud with all the trucks moving through the narrow streets. The office itself is simple, with just a few desks and a lot of binders full of permits and site notes. I have been working in this district for years, so I know the soil and the way the rain affects the foundations around here. We do not have a fancy reception area or anything like that. People usually just come by to talk about their house or to see how a project is coming along. My boots are usually covered in mud or dust, and the floor of the office shows it. We just focus on getting the walls straight and making sure the roof does not leak. It is practical work that takes a lot of patience. Cholam Street is our base, and we are usually out of here early.
