Sri Vijay Vikram Nursery

Started in Kadiyapu Lanka, we've been working with plants for a long time. It’s not a fancy setup. We mostly spend our days in the dirt under the sun. The weather in the Burri Lanka area is usually okay for what we grow, but some days are just too hot and we have to water everything twice. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished showroom. It’s just the nursery beds and a lot of pots. People from the village and nearby towns stop by to see what saplings we have ready. Sometimes we have mango trees, other times it’s mostly flowering bushes. It depends on the season and what worked well in the soil that year. We try to keep things simple. If a plant isn't doing well, we tell you. There’s no point in selling something that’s going to die in a week. My hands are usually stained with mud, and that’s just how it is. We don't have a big office building. Most of our talk happens right there among the rows of green. It’s hard work, especially when the monsoon hits and everything turns into a swamp, but we manage. We just like seeing things grow. It's a quiet life out here, away from the big city noise, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep planting and hope for the best. We’re not experts with fancy degrees, just people who know the land.
