Vmrf Cancer Hospital

Starting out in Sector 36 of Naya Raipur was a big change for most of us. If you’ve been around this part of town lately, you know how much it’s growing, but it still feels a bit quiet compared to the old city. We’ve been set up here at Vmrf Cancer Hospital for a while now. Most days, it’s just the usual routine of people coming in through the front doors and finding their way around the halls. It’s a big building, and sometimes the air conditioning hums a little too loud in the quiet parts of the afternoon. We see a lot of families sitting in the waiting areas, just passing the time or talking softly among themselves. The windows look out over the newer roads and some of the empty patches of land that haven’t been built on yet. It’s a serious place, obviously, given why people are here, but we try to keep things moving as normally as possible. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. It's just a hospital where the doctors and nurses go about their business. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow, but people don't seem to mind much. We’ve got some greenery outside that someone keeps tidy, though the Raipur sun can be pretty harsh on the grass. Most of us live nearby or commute in from the busier sectors. It’s just how things are here, day in and day out.
