Vidya Sagar English School

We are over in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, running this English school for the local community. It’s a busy city, and our school is right in the thick of it. The building isn't huge, but we make the most of every room we have for the students. On most days, you can hear the kids practicing their English through the open windows of the classroom. It’s a lot of repetition and reading out loud from the books. We have a small staff who have been with us for years, so we all know how the place runs and what needs to be done. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on doing a decent job every day and letting people see the results for themselves. The furniture is simple, and we try to keep the classrooms as cool as possible during the Raipur summers, which isn't always easy without central air. Parents often stop by the gate to chat with the teachers after school is over for the day. It’s that kind of place where everyone is on a first-name basis. We don't use any fancy technology if we don't have to; a good chalkboard and some books usually do the trick just fine. The kids bring their own lunches and eat together in the courtyard during the break. It’s a straightforward, honest school. We just take it one day at a time and focus on helping the kids with their lessons.
