The Laundry Bag

Running The Laundry Bag keeps us pretty busy every single day. We are located right near the Jain Mandir in Shankar Nagar. It is a good spot because everyone knows the temple, so finding us isn't too hard. Washing clothes might seem simple to some, but it takes up all our time. We deal with all sorts of fabrics and tough stains. Some days the machines are running from early morning until very late at night. It gets quite humid in the shop, especially during the monsoon season. We try to keep everything organized, but with so many bags coming in, it can get a bit crowded sometimes. My family helps out when things get really hectic. People from around the neighborhood just drop off their bundles and we get to work. We’ve been in Shankar Nagar for a bit now. You get to know people’s names and what they usually bring in. It is honest work. We don’t have fancy flyers or anything like that. Most people just see the sign while they are walking to the Mandir. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a pile of shirts that someone needs for a wedding or a job interview the next day. It feels good to help out like that. We aren't a big factory, just a local place doing laundry for the folks nearby. The smell of detergent is always in the air. We just keep our heads down and wash until the job is done.
