We are located in the Sardar Patel Timber Market, over in the Bhanpuri area near the WRS post. Being in a timber market means the air always smells like fresh-cut wood and sawdust. It’s a very specific smell that stays on your clothes long after you go home. Our yard is filled with stacks of lumber and different types of wood that we have brought in. We spend the day measuring things out and talking to the carpenters and builders who come through. The ground is usually covered in wood shavings, and it can get a bit muddy when it rains. We don't have a fancy showroom; you just come to the market and find us among the other timber merchants. It’s a loud place with saws running and trucks loading up, so you have to speak up to be heard. We’ve been part of this market for years and know the other sellers well. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or shiny brochures. We just know our wood and we know how to work hard. The days are long, starting when the sun comes up and usually ending when it’s too dark to see the grain in the wood anymore. It is a simple, gritty life, but there is something satisfying about seeing the stacks of timber move out to become part of someone’s house or furniture. We just do our bit. It’s mostly family here, and we just keep an eye on the inventory.
