Store Asst.

We are based out in the village of Korja, which is part of the Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh. Working as a store assistant here means dealing with a lot of different things every day. It’s a rural spot, so things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the big cities. We handle the supplies that come into the Gram Post area and make sure they get to where they need to go. The storage room is a bit old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it stays dry and keeps the goods safe. We spend our mornings checking the new arrivals and our evenings tidying up the floor. It is just a few of us here, so we all know the routine by heart now. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to finish our notes by candlelight or just wait for it to come back. It isn't a high-pressure environment, but we still have to be careful with the numbers. We like being part of the local community in Korja. People stop by to chat while we’re working, which makes the day go by faster. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything like that. We just want to make sure the inventory is right and the doors are open on time. It gets a bit lonely when the rains are heavy, but we manage. We’ve been using the same wooden desk for years now.
