Shiva Machine Tools

Being out here on Ring Road No. 2 in Sondongari means there is a lot of dust and a lot of heavy vehicles moving around constantly. We are usually busy with the machines and tools that come through the workshop every day. It is a lot of hard work and your hands get dirty pretty fast when you are working with metal and grease all the time. The shop stays open late most nights because there is always some piece of equipment that needs looking at before the next morning. It can get pretty loud when several machines are running at once and you have to shout just to be heard over the racket. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning or anything so in the summer it gets really hot under the tin roof. We just drink a lot of water and keep moving. The neighbors around Sondongari are mostly other industrial shops so everyone understands the noise and the mess. We’ve got a lot of heavy stuff sitting around the floor and you have to watch where you step. It’s a practical place where we focus on the tools and making sure they do what they are supposed to do. Sometimes someone will bring in a machine that’s older than I am and we have to figure out how to get it moving again. It’s just the way life goes here on the Ring Road. We handle whatever comes our way and keep things moving as best as we can without too much trouble.
