Sks Ispat & Power Ltd, Raipur(C.G.)

Our office is situated in Ward No-1, Bagha, which is in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It’s a bit of a haul from the main Raipur site, but this is our local base for this region. The area around here is pretty grounded and doesn't have the big city feel of Raipur or Bhopal. We are just a regular part of the neighborhood. The building we work out of is basic, with white walls that have seen better days and a ceiling fan that has a bit of a wobble when it’s on high speed. We spend our hours going over reports and talking to the people who come in from the nearby sites. Satna is a busy place in its own way, especially with all the industrial activity around, but our corner in Bagha stays relatively calm. We don't have fancy furniture or a coffee machine that does anything special. We just have a kettle and some local tea leaves. Most of the work involves making sure the numbers match up and that the communication between the Raipur plant and this office stays clear. It’s the kind of place where you know your neighbors and the guy at the corner shop knows your name. We just come in, do what needs to be done for the day, and head home when the sun starts to set over the district. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do and we do it well enough to keep things moving.
