Simplex Infrastructure Limited

Our office is tucked away inside the Lafarge Cement Colony in Sonadih. It is quite a long distance from the main city of Raipur, but all of us are used to the commute by now. Being out here near Baloda Bazar means things move at a much different pace than the big city. Simplex Infrastructure Limited has been part of this local landscape for a long time. You can see the white dust from the cement works hanging in the air most days. It gets on the windows and the cars, but we do not really mind it anymore. Our daily routine involves a huge amount of coordination with the teams out on the sites. We spend most of our time talking on the phone or looking at messy site reports. The colony itself gets very quiet in the evenings after everyone finishes their shifts. We live and work so close together that everyone knows each other’s business. It is certainly not a corporate skyscraper experience here. Our building is very practical and was built strictly for use. We have a small crew, mostly made up of engineers and site supervisors. Sometimes the roads out to the site get washed out during the heavy monsoon, and then we have to scramble to get the equipment back on track. It involves a lot of difficult logistics and dealing with the local Chhattisgarh climate. We eat together at the mess or bring tiffins from home. There are no fancy places around here to eat.
