Our office is tucked away in the basement of Parshva Apartment at number 01. It’s located in Choubey Colony, which is a fairly nice and quiet part of Raipur Ho. Being in the basement means it stays a little cooler than the street level, which is a huge relief when the Raipur sun is beating down on the asphalt outside. You have to walk down a few concrete steps to get into the office. The space is filled with long wooden tables where we spread out all the architectural plans and rough sketches. It can get a bit cluttered with rolls of tracing paper, pens, and metal rulers lying around everywhere. We have some old green filing cabinets that have seen better days, but they still hold all our important documents and old site maps. The lighting is mostly from the overhead tube lights since there aren't many windows down here to let in the sun. It’s a very quiet place to work, away from the constant noise of the main road traffic. Sometimes we lose track of time because you can't see the sun setting from the basement level. Usually, we are busy drawing or talking about how to fix a particular problem we found on a construction site. It’s just a practical work environment for an architect. People from the colony sometimes stop by to chat or ask about a small renovation for their homes. We’ve been here in Choubey Colony for a while now, and the neighbors are all pretty familiar to us. It’s just a steady, everyday kind of place.
