Sahu Murti Bhandar

Sahu Murti Bhandar is located right at Shiv Mandir Chowk in Kailashpuri. We are very close to the Bhuda Talab Bridge, which is a spot most people in this area know well. Our shop is filled with statues of all sizes. Since we are right by the temple square, there is always a lot of activity and many people passing through. You can hear the temple bells throughout the day. We have been in this location for a long time, selling murtis to families and local committees. The shop is a bit cramped because the statues take up a lot of room. We have to be very careful when moving things around so nothing gets chipped. The air here usually has a bit of paint smell or stone dust in it. We aren't a big company with a fancy office. It’s just us working in this space every day. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it's not too crowded. The bridge nearby brings in a lot of traffic, so it’s never really quiet. We take pride in what we do, but we don't go around bragging about it. People come to us because they know we've been here forever and we know our trade. It’s a simple life, tied to the traditions of the chowk. We open up in the morning and stay until the evening prayers are over.
