Our office is down on Galla Mandi Road, right by Suresh Kumar Sahu's place in Nowgaon. If you know this town, you know how busy it gets around the mandi area. We are right in the middle of all that noise. It is a bit loud with the trucks moving and the shouting from the market traders, but we actually like the energy of the place. We focus on helping local people save their hard-earned money. Most of us grew up around these streets, so we have seen how the town has changed over the last few years. The office isn't much to look at, just some plastic chairs and a metal desk where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the tea guy from the corner forgets our order, but that is just part of life on Galla Mandi Road. We spend most of our day talking to the local traders and farmers who come in to drop off their daily savings. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We do not have those shiny glass windows or air conditioning like the big banks in the city. Just a simple door and a couple of ceiling fans to keep the heat away during the summer. My brother usually handles the ledger entries while I talk to whoever walks in. We try to keep things very simple because nobody around here likes filling out complicated forms. It is just us here, doing what we can for folks.
