Rasu Research Foundation

Our foundation is based out of Barwadid village in Surguja. We’re staying at Ram Kumar’s place, which is where we do all our work. It’s a very quiet spot, far away from the noise of the big cities. Being out here in Chhattisgarh means we see things a bit differently. We spend a lot of our time just walking around and talking to people in the village. It isn't like a formal office at all. We have some books and a few notebooks where we write things down. Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours, so we just sit outside and talk. The roads getting here can be pretty rough, especially after it rains, but we’re used to it by now. We don’t have a website or any marketing stuff. Most people just know us through word of mouth. We do a lot of observing and trying to understand how things are changing in the rural areas. It’s slow work, and we don't always have answers. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big reports. We just want to figure out what’s actually happening on the ground. Ram Kumar is kind enough to let us use this space, and it serves us well. We usually have a light lunch together and then head back out to the fields or the nearby houses. It’s a simple way to live and work, but it feels right for us in Barwadid.
