Luniya & Luniya Foundation

Luniya & Luniya Foundation is based out of Baronda Chowk, right near the Durga Mandir in Mahasamund. We use Rajesh Luniya’s place as our home base. It’s a spot most people in the neighborhood know well, so it’s easy for folks to find us. We started this because we wanted to do something for our own town. Mahasamund is where we live and where we grew up, and we see where people are struggling. We aren't trying to be a massive international organization. We just want to focus on our own local community. Whether it’s helping with things at the local temple or giving a hand to families who have fallen on hard times, we just try to be useful. It’s a family-style operation, very informal and down-to-earth. People know they can just walk over to the house near the mandir if they need to talk. We don't have fancy brochures or any kind of marketing team. Most of our planning happens over a cup of tea in the living room. We look at what’s actually needed in the neighborhood—maybe it’s blankets for the winter or some supplies for the local school—and we try to make it happen. It’s just honest work, and we don’t really want anything for it. We just like seeing the people around here doing a bit better. There’s a lot of pride in our town, and we do our part.
