Lucky Engineering and Fabrications is based out in Transport Nagar, Tatibandh. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly trucks and heavy machinery moving around all day long. It gets pretty dusty out here, especially in the afternoons when the wind picks up. We have a shop where we do a lot of welding and metal work. It’s noisy and there’s always something being cut or joined together. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, the doors are wide open so we can move the big pieces of steel in and out. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for years, so they know exactly what they are doing. We do a lot of fabrication for local projects and repair work for the trucks passing through. It’s a tough job and you definitely go home with dirty hands every day. We don’t really worry about making things look perfect for a brochure. We just care that the welds hold and the structure is solid. There is a lot of back-and-forth with the guys in the yard. Sometimes we get a rush order and things get a bit chaotic, but we always manage to get through it. We’ve been in Tatibandh for a good while, so we know most of our neighbors. It’s a community of people who work with their hands. We just try to do our part and keep the shop running.
