Lafarge India Ltd.Sonadih Cement Plant

We are based at the Sonadih plant in the Balodabazar area. It’s under the Raipur district, and it’s a major hub for what we do. Our office is where the daily management of the cement plant operations happens. A.K. Nigam is the person you’ll likely see here. It’s a busy industrial site, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks in the background. It isn't a quiet place to work, but it’s where things actually get made. We focus on the practical side of the cement business. The staff here consists of people who know the technical details inside and out. We spend most of our day checking on production figures and making sure the plant is running as it should. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes the hours get quite long. We don't have a lot of time for polished presentations or fancy meetings. We’d rather be out on the floor or checking the loading docks. The weather can be tough, especially with the dust and the heat, but we are a tough group of people. We take pride in just getting the job done without complaining. It’s a community here, really. We look out for each other and make sure the cement keeps moving out to the buyers. We’ve been part of this landscape for a while and we just keep doing our part.
