Our office is tucked away in Appollo Chambers on Mogra Lane in Andheri East. It’s a busy area, especially with the metro nearby and all the traffic coming off the main road. Inside, the space is filled with stacks of laminate samples, rolls of drawing paper, and small pieces of wood. It always smells a bit like sawdust and glue because we’re constantly putting together mood boards or checking material quality. We have a few drafting tables that take up most of the room, leaving just a narrow path to the back where the small pantry is. We don't really have a showroom; we just show people photos on a laptop or flip through the physical catalogs we have piled up. The windows look out over the lane, and we can see the rain coming down hard during the monsoon. We spend a lot of time on site, but when we are here, it’s mostly about drawing up plans and talking to the carpenters on the phone. The walls are covered in scribbled notes and phone numbers. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. Sometimes we stay late to finish a layout, and the only sound is the hum of the air conditioner. It’s just a practical space where we figure out how to make rooms look better without making it too complicated.
