Junior Dps

We are tucked away in Street No 4 of Shadani Chamber, right in the Katora Talab area of Raipur. Junior Dps is mostly about the little kids who come in every morning with their big school bags. The building is easy to spot because we tried to make it look bright for the children. Inside, it’s a lot of small chairs and tables and walls covered in drawings that the kids made themselves. It’s never really quiet here until after the final bell rings and everyone goes home. We spend a lot of time helping the toddlers learn their letters and how to share their toys. Sometimes there are tears in the morning when the parents leave, but usually, by the time snacks are served, everyone is happy again. The street outside can get a bit crowded with cars and rickshaws during drop-off time, so we have to be careful when the kids are coming in. We don't have a giant campus, but the rooms are airy enough. We use a lot of craft supplies like glue and glitter, which usually ends up on the floor by the end of the day. The staff here are mostly local women who have a lot of patience for the noise and the mess. It’s just a place for the little ones to start their schooling without it being too scary or difficult for them. We just take it one day at a time here and see how it goes. Every kid is different.
