J.K.Rice Mill

You can find J.K.Rice Mill at Laxmi Kunj, right on G.E.Road. We are situated directly opposite the ICICI bank, so it’s a landmark most people recognize when they are driving by. It gets quite loud here when the machines are running full tilt. We process a lot of rice for the local area. The smell of boiling husk is something you get used to after a few days. We’ve been here for a good number of years. It’s a family-run type of thing. We don't have a big team of sales people or a corporate office. It's mostly just us in the shed and a few workers helping with the heavy sacks. The traffic on G.E.Road can be a headache when the trucks are trying to pull in or out, but we manage somehow. We see the same farmers every season. They bring their harvest, we weigh it, and then the milling starts. We try to keep the equipment in good shape, but things break down sometimes and we have to fix them ourselves. We don't make any big claims about being the biggest or anything like that. We just mill the rice and make sure the bags are filled properly. It's a lot of sweat and dust, but it’s what we know. Most of our day is spent checking the moisture or watching the polishers.
