We are located in the Sardar Patel Timber Market, specifically near the WRS Colony in Bhanpuri. It’s an area dominated by wood and heavy machinery. J.K. Patel & Company has been here for a long time, and we are part of the daily grind of the timber trade. The ground is often muddy or dusty depending on the season. We have a large space where we keep the logs and processed timber. There are trucks coming and going at all hours, so there is never a quiet moment. Our office is a simple structure made mostly of wood, fittingly enough. We spend our time checking invoices and making sure the loads are ready for transport. Bhanpuri is quite an industrial area, so it’s not the most scenic place, but it’s where the work gets done. We have a small group of workers who have been with us through thick and thin. We all know the Sardar Patel market like the back of our hand. Lunch is usually eaten together in the shade of one of the sheds. It is a hardworking environment where we don't worry about being fancy. We just focus on the timber and making sure things are moving as they should. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to work by daylight, but we just keep going. It’s a solid, practical way to spend our days. We take pride in just getting through the work and keeping the yard organized for tomorrow.
