If you head out to Tamnar in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, that’s where you’ll find our Jindal Power Limited site. It’s a big area and the power plant is a huge part of the landscape here. Tamnar is a bit out of the way, so it’s a very specific kind of place to work. It’s dusty and industrial, but there’s a lot of life to it. We spend our days dealing with the massive scale of power generation. It’s not like working in a city office. Here, you can hear the hum of the machinery and see the smoke from the stacks in the distance. Our daily tasks involve a lot of checking on equipment and making sure the coal and other resources are where they need to be. We wear uniforms and safety gear most of the time because it’s a serious environment. The people who work here mostly live nearby, so it’s a close-knit group. We have our own routines, like the shift changes and the lunch breaks at the canteen. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is boiling hot, which happens a lot in Chhattisgarh. We aren't here to make things look pretty; we’re here to make sure the electricity gets produced. It’s a lot of physical work and constant attention to detail. We don't talk about missions; we just talk about the next shift and the output numbers.
