You can find us near Vikas Foundry in the Gudhiyari area. Goneka Rockwool (India) Pvt. Ltd. is right in the middle of a pretty heavy industrial patch. Being close to a foundry means it gets quite warm and there is always the sound of metal or machines thumping in the background. Rockwool is a messy business, and if you aren't careful, you’ll be itching by the end of the shift. We all wear our gear, but the dust still finds a way in. The building itself is just a big functional space where we store and move the insulation material. We don't have a fancy reception area or air-conditioned rooms for guests. Usually, if someone comes to see us, we just pull up a plastic chair in the main area and talk over the noise. It’s a very practical environment. We spend our time checking the stock and making sure the orders are ready for the transport guys who show up at all hours. Gudhiyari is a tough place to work sometimes because of the dust and the heat, but the people around here are good. We’ve been at this for a while and we don't feel the need to dress things up. We just handle the rockwool, talk to the drivers, and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. It’s just honest, heavy work in a part of town that never really sleeps.
