Chhattisgarh Tourism Board

We work out of Paryatan Bhawan on Indira Gandhi Marg in the Telibandha area. This is the home of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. It’s a government-style building, so it has that specific feel—long hallways and lots of wooden desks. Telibandha is a pretty active part of the city, especially with the lake nearby. Most of our day is spent looking at brochures, maps, and travel schedules. We aren't travel agents exactly; we’re the ones who try to keep the information organized for everyone else. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to different districts. The office gets a bit hectic when there’s a big event coming up or during the peak travel seasons. We have a tea guy who comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we all take a second to breathe. The furniture is a bit old-fashioned, and the computers aren't the newest models, but they get the job done. We’re just regular staff members who know a lot about the local spots. We don't have a polished script when people call us. We just tell them what we know and try to be helpful. It’s a steady job in a nice part of town. Sometimes we get to go out and see the places we’re writing about, but mostly we’re right here on Indira Gandhi Marg, keeping things moving behind the scenes. It's just a regular office day for most of us.
