Century Cement Baikunth

We are based at the Century Cement plant in the Baikunth area of Raipur, specifically in the accounts department. Our office is where all the numbers and financial records for the site are kept. It is a busy place because a cement factory has a lot of moving parts and expenses to track. We spend the day looking at invoices, payroll for the workers, and making sure the suppliers get paid on time. The air in Raipur can be quite dusty, and being at a cement plant means we are used to that. Our desks are usually piled high with folders and ledger books. We aren't here to sell you anything; we just handle the back-office stuff that keeps the place running. It is a lot of data entry and double-checking figures to make sure everything adds up. The team is pretty close-knit since we spend so many hours together in the same room. We have our tea breaks and talk about the local news or what's happening at the plant. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is necessary. We work according to the plant’s schedule and try to stay on top of the paperwork so there aren't any delays in the production or the shipping. It’s just honest, steady work in a corner of Chhattisgarh where industry is a big part of life.
