Over in Bramhapuri, things are a bit quieter than the main Raipur city center. Our Bsnl office is located right in that area. It’s a typical Chhattisgarh office—hot for most of the year and full of people just trying to get through their shift without too much trouble. The office itself has seen better days, maybe, but it’s functional for what we need. We have stacks of files and old equipment everywhere you look. People in the neighborhood know where we are if they need help with their phones. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just fix the lines and handle the local accounts. The mornings start with a bit of a meeting, then everyone goes their separate ways to work on the cables. Raipur is growing fast, but Bramhapuri still feels like the old part of town where everyone knows everyone’s business. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when the weather is nice in the evening, but usually, we are inside dealing with the paperwork and the computer screens. We don’t have a fancy website or a bunch of slogans. We just show up, do the work, and deal with whatever problems the day brings. It’s a lot of routine, really. Checking the exchanges, making sure the signal is okay, and talking to the folks who live nearby. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady and it’s what we do here in Raipur.
