Our place is out in Village Khiriya, near the Pipara Dixit post office in Bhatni, which is part of the Deoria district. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower out here than in the big cities like Lucknow or Delhi. Rajesh Kumar Yadav is the one who looks after most of the things here, following in the steps of Chandrika Yadav. We do construction work for the people around this part of Uttar Pradesh. The office is really just a simple room where we keep our tools and some records of the jobs we’ve finished over the seasons. Usually, we are out in the fields or at a building site rather than sitting behind a desk. You can find us by asking around for the Yadav family in Khiriya. The roads around here can get pretty muddy when it rains, so getting materials delivered sometimes takes longer than we’d like. We use local materials when we can and work with the guys from the nearby villages. It’s hard work, especially in the summer heat, but it is what we do to earn a living. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just come by the house or find us at a site to talk about their plans for a new barn or house. We build houses, walls, and small structures for the farmers and families around Bhatni. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the cement mixer or the hammers going during the day.
