Ambuja Cements Ltd

We are located at Quarter Number A2/06 in the Ambuja Cement Colony in Rawan. This is out in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. Living and working in a cement colony is a specific kind of life. Everything revolves around the plant and the production. Our office is basically a residential quarter that we use for work. It has that lived-in feel, with old fans and sturdy furniture that has been around for many years. You can hear the hum of the factory in the distance if you listen closely enough. The air always has a bit of that industrial smell, which you get used to after a week or two. We have some plants in the small patch of dirt outside the door, but the dust usually covers them by noon. It is a small space, so we are always bumping into each other when we move around. We handle all the local coordination from here. There isn't any fancy tech, just what we need to get the job done. Sometimes we sit outside on the porch during lunch if the breeze is okay. People from the other quarters stop by to chat or drop off papers. It is a tight-knit community here in Rawan. We do not go for any corporate style; it is just us in our work clothes, keeping track of the cement bags and the transport schedules. It is honest work in a very dusty part of the country.
