About Ambuja Cement Ltd Unit- Bhatapara – Metals & Minerals in Raipur
Our unit is out in Bhatapara, specifically at the Ambuja Colony in Rawan village. I’m over in the production department, and my desk is in the A3/75 block. Living and working in the same colony makes for a very specific kind of life. You’re never really away from the work. We can hear the plant running from our front porches. It’s a dusty place, as you’d expect from a cement production area in Raipur, but it’s where we all live and breathe. My neighbors are the same people I see in the office every morning. We deal with the day-to-day grind of making sure the output stays steady. It’s not a glamorous job. We spend a lot of time in our work clothes, checking on the machines or talking to the shift workers. The sun in Baloda Bazar is no joke, and by midday, everyone is looking for a bit of shade. We don't have a corporate office with glass walls; we have a functional space that smells like grease and stone. We focus on the practical side of things. If something breaks, we fix it. If a shipment is short, we find out why. It’s a community of people who just want to get the job done and go home to their families in the same colony. It’s a simple, hardworking life here in Rawan. There is always someone to talk to about the day's progress.
