Alok Harsh Rice Mill Pvt. Ltd.

We’ve been running things here at Alok Harsh Rice Mill Pvt. Ltd. for quite some time now. Our place is situated right on Jagraon Road in Mullanpur, inside the Dhaliwal Complex. It gets pretty loud and dusty when the machines are going full tilt, especially during harvest months. People around here know the sound of our mill. We deal with lots of paddy coming in from the local fields. My father started things, and now we just keep the gears turning every day. The office is small and usually has stacks of ledgers piled up. There’s always a tractor or two blocking the driveway, which makes it a bit hard for cars to get in. We don't have fancy signs or a big lobby. It’s mostly just concrete, some big storage sheds, and the smell of raw rice everywhere. Some days are slow, but usually, we are busy trying to get orders out to the local markets. The staff has been here for years, and we all eat lunch together in the back shed when it’s hot outside. Mullanpur is a busy spot for this kind of work. We mostly just focus on getting the husking done right so the bags are ready for the trucks. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The machinery needs oiling often, and the electricity cuts out sometimes, which is a real pain. We just get back to it once the power comes back on. That’s how life goes here on Jagraon Road.
