Jasmeet Transport Corporation has been around this neighborhood for quite some time. It’s a very industrial part of town, so there is always the sound of heavy engines and the smell of diesel in the air. We share the area with a lot of other transport guys, which makes sense since we’re so close to the main roads. The office is small, mostly just some old wooden desks and a few chairs that have seen better days. We don't really bother with decorations. There’s a calendar on the wall and a lot of logbooks stacked up. Most of the day is spent talking to drivers on the phone or checking the schedules. It gets incredibly humid here, especially in the afternoons, so we usually keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it brings in the dust. We know most of the people at the tea stall nearby, and that’s where most of our unofficial meetings happen. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, especially when a shipment is delayed. We just take things as they come and try to keep the trucks moving without too much fuss. It’s just a normal transport office doing its thing every day. Sometimes we have to stay late to sort out the paperwork for the next morning’s routes.
