Op Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant

It’s a huge site here in Tanmar, Raigarh. Most days you just see the chimneys and the smoke from far away before you even get to the gate. My name is on the address because I look after the safety stuff here at the Op Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant. It is a big job keeping everyone safe when there’s so much heavy machinery and heat everywhere. Chhattisgarh gets really hot in the summer and the plant makes it even warmer. We spend most of our time checking helmets and making sure the workers don't take risks. The post office is in Tanmar and we get our mail there. Life here is mostly about the shifts. Some guys come from far away while others live right nearby in the colony. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise. You get used to the sound of the turbines after a while but at first it's a lot. We have our small office tucked away. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long afternoons. Sometimes the dust is a bit much. It’s just a regular power plant job, really.
