Hotel Ans International

If you find yourself in Raigarh, you’ll see our building, Hotel Ans International. It’s been sitting here for a good while. We see all sorts of people coming through, mostly travelers who are tired from the road. The lobby isn't huge but it has some chairs that are actually quite comfortable if you’ve been on a bus for six hours. We try to keep the floors swept and the water pitchers full. Being in Madhya Pradesh, it gets quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. We have a few staff members who have been with us since the beginning. They know all the quirks of the plumbing and which rooms get the best light in the morning. We don’t have those fancy electronic keys; we still use the metal ones that feel heavy in your pocket. The kitchen starts making noise pretty early because people want their breakfast before they head back out. It’s a straightforward place to stay. No one is putting on an act here. We just want to make sure you have a bed and a working fan. The sign outside flickers a little bit at night but everyone knows where we are. It’s just how things are run in this part of town. We’re right here in the middle of Raigarh, waiting for the next guest to pull up and ask for a room. Most people stay just one or two nights while they pass through.
