Tata Hospital

Living and working in Kharghar has changed a lot lately. Tata Hospital has been part of this neighborhood as it grew from mostly empty land to all these high buildings. It's usually a bit of a trek for some people to get out here, but the roads are better now. We spend most of our mornings getting the rooms ready and checking the supplies. The hallways are wide enough that it doesn't feel too cramped even when we have a full house. Sometimes the wind blows in from the hills nearby and brings a bit of dust, so we are always wiping down the desks and chairs. It’s not a corporate office where everything is perfect; things break and we fix them. We have a small tea stall just outside where we usually go for a break when things get too busy. Most of the staff live nearby, so we know the local shops and the shortcuts to avoid the traffic near the station. People come to us from all over this side of the city. We don't spend much time on fancy speeches or anything. We just open the doors, see who needs help, and get on with the day’s work. It’s a job like any other, but you get to see a lot of different people every single day. Some stay for a bit, others just pass through. It keeps us on our toes and makes the weeks go by pretty fast.
