Swagat General Store

Swagat General Store is located in Dasgaon village, which is part of the Mahad taluka in Raigad. We are situated quite close to the Mumbai Goa Highway. It’s a spot where people stop when they are traveling between the big cities, but we mostly serve the people who live right here in the village. The store is filled with a bit of everything, from soap to snacks and basic household items. We don’t have a computer system to track the inventory; we just look at the shelves and see what’s missing. It’s a family-run kind of thing. Someone is always sitting behind the counter, usually chatting with a neighbor who dropped by for a chat rather than to buy anything. The highway brings in a lot of dust and noise, but it also brings in new faces every now and then. We like the balance of being in a quiet village like Dasgaon but having the main road so close by. During the monsoon, the rain can be really heavy here in Raigad, and we sometimes have to move the bags away from the door. It’s not a polished retail experience. It’s just a shop where you can find what you need without any fuss. We’ve been here for years, and most people around Mahad know exactly where to find us.
