Our place is out in 4 Chakan Chimbligaon Chimbli Phata. Being near the phata means there is always a lot of traffic passing by, mostly big lorries headed towards the highway. The air here smells like industrial production, which makes sense given what we do with foam. Inside the factory, things are pretty organized but it’s a lot of manual work. We have rows of material stacked up to the ceiling. It’s actually quite soft inside if you don't mind the dust. We’ve been operating from this Chimbli location for several years now. The staff mostly comes from the villages nearby, so everyone knows each other. We don't have a big corporate lobby. When you walk in, you’re basically right there where the work happens. There’s a small desk for paperwork near the entrance. Lunch breaks are usually taken together under the shade of the trees out front. The power goes out sometimes, and then everything gets real quiet until the generator kicks in. It’s a practical setup. We make what people need for their furniture or packing. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on the blocks and sheets of foam going out the door. It’s a honest day's work in a part of town that never really stops moving. The truck drivers usually pull in right near the phata and wait for us to load them up.
