Our place is out in Village Kuruli, which is a bit of a drive out on the Chakan-Alandi Road. We are at Gat No: 679/2/1 in the Khed Taluka area. It’s a busy industrial zone now, but you still see some fields around here. We work with power transmission components, things like clutches and brakes that keep big machines running. The workshop is a large shed and it gets pretty hot under the metal roof when the sun is out. We have a lot of heavy parts moving around on pallet jacks and there’s always the sound of metal clanking. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the city, but it’s where the factories are, so it makes sense for us to be here. The road outside can get very dusty with all the heavy trucks passing by all day long. We usually have a tea break in the afternoon to get away from the noise for a bit. Our team is a mix of locals and folks who commute from further away. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Just a gate, a small office space, and the main floor where the actual work happens. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, but we’re used to it. We just focus on getting the assemblies right and meeting the deadlines. It’s honest work in a tough environment. We stay busy and that is fine by us.
